Last year, The Solicitors’ Charity gave nearly £1m to help solicitors in need or crisis. The statistics below illustrate the characteristics of people who needed this support. They show that hardship can happen to solicitors across the profession, regardless of their background or where they are in their careers.
The charity aided many solicitors and their dependants to get back on their feet by offering financial assistance to cover the basics. This includes funding utility bills, accommodation, household repairs, transport, putting food on the plate and more. Many beneficiaries were also offered debt and welfare benefits advice, whilst others were provided with access to services for career coaching, emotional support.
